Jose Mourinho 'has £80m January budget'

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will have £80m to spend in the January transfer window, according to a report.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly been handed £80m to spend in the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose continues to be strongly linked with a move to United, and it is understood that the Red Devils will be able to sign the England international for £45m next month.

Mourinho is also still said to be in the market for a new winger after failing to bring top target Ivan Perisic to Old Trafford during the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, the United boss met with club chiefs last week to discuss January plans, and the Portuguese was informed that he would have up to £80m to boost his squad at the start of 2018.

A number of players have also been tipped to leave United in January, with the futures of Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Marouane Fellaini all far from secure.

The Red Devils will look to book their spot in the knockout stage of the Champions League when they host CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night, before welcoming Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
