Pachuca president Jesus Martinez has claimed that Manchester United want to sign the Mexican club's 20-year-old attacker Hirving Lozano.
Lozano, who is a Mexican international of two caps, came through the youth system at his current club and has scored 19 times in 79 league appearances since 2014.
According to Martinez, Man United chief scout Jim Lawlor has been monitoring Lozano, nicknamed 'Chucky', in recent weeks with a view to a move at the end of the season.
"[The chief scout] has been coming here to do special reports on our players, but especially Chucky. We would love it if he had to go that it would be to a team like Manchester United or Porto," Manchester Evening News quotes Martinez as saying.
Lozano's teammates Erick Gutierrez and Rodolfo Pizarro have also reportedly been watched by the 20-time English champions.
