Arsenal are ready to rival Manchester United for the signing of Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez, according to a report.
Mahrez has been in fine form so far this season, scoring seven goals and recording six assists in 12 Premier League appearances to help propel the side to the top of the table.
According to Foot365, Arsene Wenger is eyeing a move for the Algerian in the January transfer window in a bid to add more depth to his squad and alleviate a growing injury crisis at the Emirates.
However, Mahrez has also been linked with Manchester United, amongst other top clubs, and the Gunners would be likely to face a keen battle for the player's signature.
Mahrez would likely command a high transfer fee if he were to be sold, having recently extended his contract at the King Power Stadium.
The 24-year-old joined the Foxes in 2014 from French side Le Havre, and has scored 15 goals in 65 appearances for the club since his arrival.
