Manchester United could reportedly attempt to hijack Chelsea's proposed move for Kai Havertz.
The 21-year-old has been widely tipped to make the switch to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, and Chelsea are allegedly hopeful of completing a deal within the coming days following Bayer Leverkusen's exit from the Europa League.
Man United had been linked with Havertz in the past but were thought to be focusing their efforts on signing Jadon Sancho, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's pursuit of the Englishman has been dealt a huge blow after Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc announced that Sancho would continue to represent the Bundesliga club next season.
As a result, the Manchester Evening News claims that the Red Devils could reignite their interest in Havertz as they look to thwart Chelsea's attempts of signing the highly-rated attacker.
With a deal for Sancho said to be off the cards for now, Solskjaer is reportedly considering other options as he looks to strengthen the United attack, with Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele rumoured to be on the radar of the Red Devils.
Havertz amassed 18 goals and nine assists across all competitions for Leverkusen during the most recent campaign.
