Report: Aston Villa want £12m for Ron Vlaar as Manchester United show interest

Aston Villa price captain Ron Vlaar at £12m ahead of alleged interest from Manchester United, according to reports.

Aston Villa have put a £12m price tag on Ron Vlaar ahead of alleged interest from Manchester United, according to reports.

The 29-year-old defender has worked with new Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal before, both being part of the Netherlands setup that reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Brazil during the summer.

However, ESPN claims that the West Midlands outfit, eager to capitalise on their asset, are pricing their captain at £12m, while Manchester United are looking to spend around £4m.

Vlaar's contract runs out at the end of this season.
