Togo midfielder Alaixys Romao has said that joining Marseille from Lorient is an "important" moment in his career.
The 29-year-old, who is currently on Africa Cup of Nations duty, also revealed that he did not expect to leave but could not turn down a club like Marseille.
Speaking to L'Equipe, Romao said: "I really didn't expect to leave Lorient, but this is Marseille. "This is a really important moment in my career."
The deal will keep Romao at Marseille until the summer of 2016.
