Mexico have announced the appointment of Victor Manuel Vucetich as their new head coach as they aim to rescue their fading hopes of qualifying for next year's World Cup.
Vucetich will take charge with Mexico in fifth position in the final round of CONCACAF qualification.
Vucetich has managed a whole cohort of clubs in Mexico and parted company with Monterrey last month following a poor start to the new season.
The 58-year-old had previously guided the Mexican team to two Apertura titles and three consecutive CONCACAF Champions League crowns between 2011 and 2013.
Mexico face Costa Rica in their final qualifier on October 14.
