Paraguay striker Lucas Barrios has joined Ligue 1 side Montpellier on a season-long loan deal from Spartak Moscow.
The 29-year-old's move was confirmed on Tuesday, with the option to buy the striker permanently at the end of the season.
The Argentinian-born forward made a name for himself by helping Borussia Dortmund secure back-to-back Bundesliga trophies in 2010-11, before securing moves to Guangzhou Evergrande and Spartak last season.
Barrios's move to the Ligue 1 club will give Montpellier fans hopes of past glories after winning the league in 2012, with the club in decline since finishing only two points above relegation in their last campaign.
