Newcastle United are reportedly dealt a blow as Italian manager Antonio Conte is expected to reject a job offer from the Magpies.

Antonio Conte has reportedly dismissed the possibility of taking over as Newcastle United manager.

With the new Saudi-led ownership reportedly looking to replace current boss Steve Bruce, the Italian, who has been out of a job since leaving Inter Milan at the end of last season, was linked with a move back to the Premier League to take over at St. James' Park.

However, according to The Sun, Conte would likely reject a formal offer from the Magpies, should they approach him to replace Bruce.

While the current boss was expected to be dismissed by the Saudi-led consortium before Sunday's return to action against Tottenham Hotspur, he took charge at St. James' Park, and they fell to a 3-2 defeat, reportedly putting the Englishman under more pressure as the Magpies have now failed to win any of their eight Premier League games this campaign.

Amid financial troubles with the Italian giants, Conte left Inter Milan after securing their first Serie A title in 11 years last season, having previously led Chelsea to a Premier League title in the 2016-17 season and won eight Scudettos and a Champions League with Juventus.
