Leicester City, Newcastle United keen on Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney?

Leicester City and Newcastle United both reportedly hold an interest in Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney ahead of the summer transfer window.

Leicester City and Newcastle United have reportedly emerged as the latest clubs to show an interest in Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney.

During the January transfer window, both West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion were keen on boosting their survival efforts with the addition of the 27-year-old, who has established himself as one of the best players outside of the Premier League.

Cairney is currently helping Fulham try to earn promotion to the top flight with the Cottagers currently sitting in third place in the Championship standings, but according to The Sun, more clubs are monitoring the Scotland international in the event that Fulham remain at the second tier.

The West Londoners have previously turned down offers in the region of £20m, but both Leicester and Newcastle may be prepared to make bids of a similar size ahead of next season.

Cairney - who has four goals and five assists to his name in 28 appearances this season - still has over three years remaining on his contract.
