Report: Loic Remy refuses to join Newcastle United

Loic Remy reportedly turns down his initial chance to join Newcastle United on a permanent basis despite a £10m fee having been agreed with Queens Park Rangers.

Loan star Loic Remy has reportedly snubbed his initial chance to join Newcastle United on a permanent deal.

The Magpies are understood to have exercised the option to buy the Queens Park Rangers striker, who is at St James' Park on a one-year deal, for £10m.

However, the French international, who has scored 11 goals in 21 United appearances this season, has so far turned down the chance to move to Tyneside on a full-time switch, according to The Sun.

It would be the second time that the former Marseille forward rejected has Newcastle after he chose a transfer to QPR over Alan Pardew's side when he first moved to the Premier League in 2012.

Remy has been linked with North London duo Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but Pardew has previously insisted that he is confident of signing the 27-year-old forward on a permanent basis.
