Result: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Middlesbrough

Nottingham Forest produce their first home win of the season in Steve Cotterill's first game in charge, seeing off previously unbeaten Middlesbrough 2-0.

Steve Cotterill began managerial life at Nottingham Forest with a win tonight, also putting an end to Middlesbrough's unbeaten start to the season.

Forest, who were yet to register a home win at the City Ground this term, took the lead in the 35th minute.

Full-back Chris Gunter was fed by Lewis McGugan before squaring to striker Marcus Tudgay, who slotted home from close range.

The home side doubled their lead ten minutes after the break through McGugan, who fired into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Forest move out of the drop zone to 20th while Boro remain third, five points behind leaders Southampton.
