Matt Le Tissier backs Morgan Schneiderlin for Manchester United move

Southampton icon Matt Le Tissier believes that Manchester United will win the race to sign midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier believes that highly-rated midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin will join Manchester United this summer.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move away from St Mary's, with United and Arsenal among those vying for his signature.

Speculation has mounted that the Red Devils are leading the race, and Le Tissier believes that a move to Old Trafford is on the cards.

He told Sky Sports News: "It's probably more likely that he'll leave than stay. The big question is whether a top-four side meets his valuation.

"Out of those sides, it is Manchester United that need him most as they still require strengthening in that position.

"Schneiderlin is the sort of player they should be looking for, having proven over the last few seasons that he can mix it with the top sides."

The 25-year-old is contracted to the Saints until 2017.
