Emmanuel Adebayor not in contention for Tottenham Hotspur this season

Mauricio Pochettino confirms that Emmanuel Adebayor will never play for Tottenham Hotspur again despite having 10 months left on his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has stated that Emmanuel Adebayor will never play for the club again.

The 31-year-old, who still has 10 months left on his contract, failed to engineer a move away during the recent transfer window and will not be considered despite remaining a Spurs player.

The Togolese held talks with West Ham United, but reportedly would not leave Spurs until they paid out the final year of his contract, something the North London side were not willing to do.

Speaking at a press conference today, Pochettino told reporters: "I was clear with him and I don't need to explain much more, I think it is clear he is not in my idea, in my mind or in the plans for the future of Tottenham."

Adebayor has not been included in Tottenham's squads for the Premier League or Europa League.
