A report claims that Tottenham Hotspur attacker Gareth Bale will sign a new contract with the club.

Gareth Bale has reportedly agreed a new contract worth in the region of £130,000 a week with Tottenham Hotspur.

The club's failure to qualify for next season's Champions League had resulted in reports that he would leave White Hart Lane this summer, with bookmakers having slashed the odds of him not being a Spurs player at the start of the next campaign.

However, the 23-year-old is happy to remain with Tottenham for at least another 12 months and has committed his immediate future to the club by signing a fresh deal, according to the London Evening Standard.

The report went on to claim that Bale would be allowed to leave at the end of next season, but only if a bid in the region of £50m was received.

It is believed that Spurs will announce the news of the Welsh international's new contract soon.
