Watford head coach Quique Flores has described the performance that his side produced during tonight's 2-0 loss at Southampton as the "worst match we've played in the Premier League".
The visiting Hornets had just four goal attempts, one of which landed on target, throughout the entire 90 minutes at the St Mary's Stadium.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the final whistle, Flores said: "We didn't hit the level of other matches. We didn't play well. It was the worst match we've played in the Premier League.
"Southampton played much better. I am sorry for the first half. I apologise to the fans. It's the first time in the season we failed to find the level."
The loss has left Flores's men 10th in the Premier League.
