Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo: 'Birmingham City game won't be a party'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says that the club's Championship game with Birmingham City will 'not be a party'.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has said that his side remain fully focused on defeating rivals Birmingham City.

On Wednesday night, Wolves defeated Derby County to move to within a win of promotion to the Premier League, something which will be achieved before kickoff on Sunday afternoon if Fulham fail to beat Brentford.

However, Nuno has stressed the importance of delivering a positive result for the club's supporters against a team who have improved since the appointment of Garry Monk.

The 44-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "The game is not going to be a party. We know the importance of the game and what it means to us. When you are talking about the derby everything changes. What I really expect is a good atmosphere.

"It's going to be very difficult. They changed managers and I think Garry is doing a very good job. The results are there and they are fighting for their lives, but we are fighting for something really important for us - to win at Molineux in front of our crowd. All the ingredients for a good game are there."

As it stands, three points will not be enough for Wolves to win the Championship title this weekend.
