Australia have won the opening match of the Four Nations with a 26-12 win over New Zealand.
Matt Scott gave Australia an early lead after two minutes when he powered through the All Blacks defence to touch down. Johnathan Thurston kicked the extras to make the score 6-0.
The Green and Gold doubled their lead after 30 minutes when Tony Williams scored a try after he collected a kick. Again, Thurston completed the kick.
Thurston himself touched down four minutes later after good work by Williams to make the half-time score 16-0.
New Zealand were transformed in the second half and began their fightback on 49 minutes after the video referee adjudged Jason Nightingale to have touched the ball down.
Kalifa FaiFai Loa reduced the deficit when he went over, but tries from Darius Boyd and Akuila Uate sealed the win for the Aussies.
