Widnes Vikings sign prop Gil Dudson from Wigan Warriors

Widnes Vikings sign prop Gil Dudson from Wigan Warriors on a two-year deal.

Widnes Vikings have confirmed the signing of prop Gil Dudson from Wigan Warriors on a two-year contract.

The Wales international, 24, made just 15 appearances for the Warriors last season.

Dudson, who has won 14 caps for his country, joined Wigan from Crusaders back in 2012.

"We've been talking about Gil for a number of months and he's a player we have had to be a little bit patient with," head coach Denis Betts is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"He is big, he's strong, he's got international pedigree, and I think he is young enough to really make a massive mark in the game over the next few years."

Dudson was part of the Wigan side that won the 2013 Challenge Cup and Super League Grand Final.
