Kei Nishikori has got his French Open campaign off to a winning start by securing a 6-3 6-2 6-0 victory over Jon Levine.

The number 13 seed started off strongly on the clay court with powerful serves and well-executed returns that prevented Levine from holding his serve.

With the momentum in Nishikori's favour, the Japanese pro was able to secure a one-set lead, leaving Levine with the task of drawing level in the second.

However, it wasn't to be as Nishikori maintained his dominance with quick feet on the court to double his set-lead, giving his opponent an uphill struggle to save his French Open campaign.

Nishikori immediately took a break of serve to push to a 3-0 lead, while Levine struggled to find composure and launch a comeback, resulting in the Japanese pro nabbing a place in the next round.
