Roger Federer is looking forward to playing Andy Murray in the Australian Open semi-final.

Roger Federer is hoping that his Australian Open semi-final against Andy Murray is another special match.

Federer beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in five sets to reach the semi-final stage, and is looking forward to facing the Scot.

The number two seed joked that he will recover from his five-set match quickly before admitting that he was impressed with Murray in 2012.

"I have to recover first, I should be fine. I am young so I will recover quickly," Federer said with a smile on his face.

"I am looking forward to the match, it will be extremely tough. It was great to see Andy win his first grand slam last year, as well as the gold medal at the Olympics, after losing in a tough Wimbledon final.

"Hopefully we will play many great matches in the future and I'm sure the one this week will be special."

Federer has never lost to Murray in a grand slam match.
