Andy Murray has insisted that he must improve his serve if he is to become a serious contender on clay this season.
The British number one was victorious in the final of the Miami Masters after an epic 2-6 6-4 7-6 (7-1) win over David Ferrer that will move him up to second in the world rankings.
However, the Scot admits that his first serve percentage against the Spaniard (54%) is something that he will have to improve on as the tour heads into clay season.
"I served poorly. If I'd served better, I could have made it easier and that's something I need to do better in the clay court season," Murray told Sky Sports News.
"This week I did a lot of things well but I need to serve better. If I serve better, I'll be able to win matches like today more comfortably. It's easier to return on clay so it's even more important to serve well."
Murray will next compete in Monte Carlo.
