Marin Cilic crashes out of Aegon Championships

Former champion Marin Cilic is beaten in the first round of the Aegon Championships by world number 60 Marinko Matosevic.

Former champion Marin Cilic has lost in the first round of the Aegon Championships to world number 60 Marinko Matosevic.

The ninth seed, who won the title in 2012 before losing last year's final to Andy Murray, was broken midway through the opening set before Matosevic held his nerve to serve it out 6-4.

It was a similar story in the second as the Australian opened up a 4-2 lead, allowing him to seal the victory 6-4 6-4 inside one hour and 20 minutes.

Matosevic will now take on either Matthew Ebden or Lukas Lacko for a place in round three.
