Kevin Anderson defeats Denis Istomin to reach the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open.

Kevin Anderson has advanced to the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open with a 6-3 3-6 6-3 victory over Denis Istomin.

Home favourite Ryan Harrison now stands in the way of the 27-year-old South African and a place in Sunday's final.

The world number 21 broke through in the third game before serving out for a one-set lead. However, the Uzbek was able to force a decider after winning the second set 6-3.

Anderson, seeded second for the tournament, sealed his progression by taking the third set 6-3.

The other semi-final sees Lleyton Hewitt take on John Isner.
