Rafael Nadal sets up an all-Spanish Barcelona Open final against David Ferrer by thrashing Fernando Verdasco.

Rafael Nadal booked his place in the final of the Barcelona Open with a straight-sets victory over Fernando Verdasco this afternoon.

The world number two dominated Verdasco in the first set, winning it 6-0 in under half an hour, his accuracy and aggression proving too much for the tournament's ninth seed to deal with.

Verdasco, currently ranked 20th in the world, put up more of a fight in the second set but still lost it 6-4 having been broken in the fifth game.

It was ultimately a merciless yet comfortable win for Nadal, who will face David Ferrer in an all-Spanish final after he beat Milos Raonic earlier today.
