Kyle Edmund has reached the final of a challenger tournament for the first time with a three-sets victory over Go Soeda in Yokohama.
The 19-year-old's run appeared to be coming to an end when he dropped the first set to the second seed but he stormed back to register a 4-6 6-1 6-3 triumph.
The British number five had suffered five consecutive first-round losses, but reaching the quarter-finals in Traralgon and the final in Japan has seen the prospect rediscover his form.
Edmund was broken three times on the way to losing the opener, but he improved to run out a convincing winner against the world number 130.
Australia's John Millman, who beat Edmund and James Ward on the way to winning in Traralgon last week, will be the Brit's opponent in the final.
Win or lose on Sunday, Edmund is expected to break into the world's top 200, his career-high ranking, where he will join Liam Broady who reached the final of a challenger in Charlottesville a couple of weeks ago.
