Roger Federer suffered an early scare in his third-round clash against Stanislas Wawrinka but managed to secure a 4-6 7-6(4) 6-0 victory.
The world number one struggled in the early stages of the contest as his countryman secured the first break of the match and executed some precise forehand shots across the court to hold serve and push on to win the opening set.
Federer had to fight back in the second but Wawrinka managed to match his compatriot with strong serves and take the set to a tie break but it was Federer who prevailed to draw level.
Despite an early stumble, Federer crushed Wawrinka in the final set by six games to love to book his place in the final eight.
