Britain's Anne Keothavong has been narrowly beaten by Danish eighth seed Caroline Wozniacki in the first round of the women's Olympic singles at Wimbledon.

Keothavong came out of the traps quickly on Centre Court and broke the former world number one instantly on her way to winning the first set 6-2.

Wozniacki took a while to find her way in the match but eventually did and claimed the second 6-3.

The Dane then assumed control of the contest and closed out the match 6-2 with a confident display in the third.
