Camila Giorgi defeats sixth seed Caroline Wozniacki

Unseeded Italian Camila Giorgi is through to the fourth round of the US Open after defeating number six seed Caroline Wozniacki in three sets.

Number six seed Caroline Wozniacki is out of the US Open after being defeated by Italy's Camila Giorgi.

The Dane took the first set in comfortable fashion as she broke Giorgi once to secure a 6-4 win.

However, the 21-year-old hit back at the 2009 finalist with two breaks of her own in the second set to turn the table with a 6-4 victory.

Giorgi took command of the match in the third as she gained confident with every stroke, hitting 14 winners on her way to taking the set 6-3 and with it her place in the fourth round of the tournament.
