Bernard Tomic has conceded that he suffered from nerves prior to his third-round clash with Richard Gasquet at Wimbledon this afternoon.
In what proved to be a fairly even contest, the Australian won 7-6 5-7 7-5 7-6 to book his place in round four at SW19.
However, the 20-year-old has admitted that before the match he felt the pressure of opening up on Centre Court in the English capital.
"I am very happy and I played a very good match. It's hard coming out first on Centre Court and I was very nervous but I managed to get out of some difficult situations, but I had to because Richard is a very good player," he told BBC Sport.
"I am happy with the way I am playing and I am pleased to be through to the fourth round."
He will now take on either Kevin Anderson or Tomas Berdych for a place in the quarter-finals.
