Leicester City may reportedly be prepared to rival Arsenal in the race to sign Ryan Bertrand, who is departing Southampton on a free transfer.

Leicester City may reportedly contemplate an approach for Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand during the summer transfer window.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the 31-year-old would end his six-and-a-half-year association with the Saints at the end of the season.

The former England international will not be short of offers with Arsenal said to be among the frontrunners for his signature.

According to the Evening Standard, Leicester could join the Gunners in pursuing a deal for the left-back ahead of the next campaign.

While Brendan Rodgers already has Timothy Castagne and Luke Thomas at his disposal, the former is sometimes used on the opposite flank.

Bertrand is unlikely to move to the King Power Stadium unless he becomes first choice in his preferred position.
