Christian Benteke confident of returning quicker than expected

Christian Benteke insists that he will return from his Achilles injury quicker than expected.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has insisted that he will return from injury much quicker than first expected.

After the Belgian ruptured his Achilles in April some reports suggested that he would miss the first half of next season, but Benteke is confident of handing a boost to Villa by making a faster recovery.

"I'm convinced I will be back faster than expected," Benteke, who was expected to be involved for Belgium at this summer's World Cup, told members of the media.

"There are many people who have said it will take me six months to get back but I am sure I will be back faster."

Benteke was ruled out for six months by Villa shortly after suffering the injury.
