Tony Craig signs new Brentford contract extension

Brenford defender Tony Craig signs a new contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2016-17 season.

Defender Tony Craig has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract extension with Championship side Brentford.

The 29-year-old has been at Griffin Park since a 2012 move from fellow Londoners Millwall and made over 100 appearances for the club.

"It is tremendous news for the club that Tony has accepted the offer put forward to him," Bees boss Mark Warburton told the club website.

"It shows the commitment on both sides to continue the work that has been done over the past few months.

"Tony's attitude, desire and professionalism on and off the pitch are evident for all to see."

Craig made his 100th league appearance for the Bees in the recent victory over Nottingham Forest, one of three straight wins for the club over the past week that has seen them climb into the second tier's playoff places.
