Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly nearing a deal for Nigerian international Leon Balogun.
Balogun will be out of contract at Mainz 05 this summer, and a number of clubs are believed to be interested in the experienced centre-back.
However, according to ESPN, Brighton are in a strong position, with the Seagulls increasingly confident that they will be able to seal a deal for the 29-year-old, who is expected to feature for Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup.
Balogun made 15 appearances in all competitions for Bundesliga outfit Mainz during the 2017-18 season.
The 16-time international has also turned out for Hannover 96 and Werder Bremen during a well-travelled career.
