Andre Gray strikes late to give Burnley draw against Real Sociedad

Burnley's final match of their pre-season ends in a 1-1 draw against Spanish side Real Sociedad in Friday's clash at Turf Moor, as Andre Gray strikes late for the Clarets.

Burnley's final match of their pre-season programme has ended in a 1-1 draw against Spanish side Real Sociedad in Friday's clash at Turf Moor.

The Clarets were quickest off the starting blocks and applied pressure early on, with Ben Mee heading just off target in the fifth minute.

Sociedad, however, went on to take the lead just after the half-hour mark as Carlos Vela's free kick was headed back across goal by Raul Navas and crept inside Tom Heaton's post.

Sean Dyche's charges regrouped at half time and nearly struck back immediately after the restart, Daniel Lafferty hitting a half-volley just wide, but the La Liga side countered through Alejandro Sanz and Jon Bautista, the latter hitting the Burnley post.

Just when it seemed like Sociedad would edge the win, Andre Gray found himself in the right place at the right time as he latched on to Lukas Jutkiewicz's flick-on and curled home.
