Salim Kerkar has joined Charlton Athletic after a successful trial at the Championship side.
Kerkar had been without a club after rejecting the transfer of his contract to newco Rangers last month, going on trial at the Valley soon after.
Th 24-year-old attacking midfielder featured in the Addicks' pre-season friendlies against Sporting Lisbon and Barnet, and manager Chris Powell saw enough in the player to give him a one-year contract.
"Salim has impressed while he's been with us, and we felt that he warranted a longer stay," Powell told the club's official website.
"I'm very pleased that he's agreed to join. He's predominantly a left-sider and can play at left-back and left wing, and I'm told that he has played up front as well, so he offers a variety of options.
"He adds to the squad and I look forward to him having a good time with us."
Kerkar signed for Rangers in 2010 after impressing while on trial there too, but only made 18 appearances in his two years at Ibrox.
