Assistant coach Zsolt Low says that he is 'hopeful' that Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel can still attend Saturday's Club World Cup final against Palmeiras.

Chelsea assistant coach Zsolt Low has revealed that Thomas Tuchel could still attend Saturday's Club World Cup final against Palmeiras.

Last weekend, Tuchel tested positive for coronavirus, subsequently preventing him from travelling to Abu Dhabi with the rest of the squad.

Providing that he returns two negative tests, the head coach will be able to link up with the rest of the group, and Low has not ruled out the possibility of the German making it to the Middle East in time.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Low said: "We hope he can come. We have 30 hours to the game. He follows the rules and protocols. Still a lot of time.

"We hope he can come but if not we are well prepared, we have a lot of meetings. We talk about the game, we analyse the game and see what we can do better. We're absolutely clear what to do better in the second game."

Low took on the lead role on Wednesday as Chelsea battled their way to a 1-0 triumph over Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal.
