Chelsea 'quoted £75m for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson'

Bournemouth reportedly tell Chelsea that it will take a bid of £75m to prise striker Callum Wilson away from the club during the January transfer window.

Bournemouth have reportedly told Chelsea that it will take a bid of £75m to prise Callum Wilson away from the club this month.

Chelsea are understood to be in the market for attacking reinforcements amid uncertainty over the future of Alvaro Morata, with Wilson one of the names on their list of targets.

Manager Maurizio Sarri has often used Eden Hazard in a false nine role ahead of recognised strikers Morata and Olivier Giroud this season.

The likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Mauro Icardi have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in order to solve their striker problems, but Chelsea viewed Wilson as a cheaper alternative.

However, the Daily Star reports that Bournemouth have placed a £75m asking price on the head of the England international - 25 times more than they paid for him in 2014.

Wilson, who has scored 10 goals for the Cherries this season, has also been linked to Watford and West Ham United, although both clubs are unlikely to get anywhere near Bournemouth's valuation.
