A swap deal involving Chelsea striker Timo Werner and Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has allegedly been discussed.
Despite his status as a key man at the Allianz Arena, Lewandowski has just 19 months remaining on his contract and is known to be open to a new challenge.
Meanwhile, Werner has never fully delivered on his potential at Stamford Bridge, his inconsistency keeping his name associated with an exit from the European champions.
Journalist Ian McGarry has told the Transfer Window Podcast that a swap deal involving the two players has been talked about behind the scene.
McCarry said: "It is certainly the case that he (Pini Zahavi) has offered Lewandowski to Chelsea and [Marina] Granovskaia.
"A move which could include Werner going to Bayern. The prospect for [Thomas] Tuchel and Werner is appealing and is being discussed."
Despite being at different stages of their career, there is an argument that Lewandowski and Werner will command similar price-tags in the current market.
