Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah affirms his desire to stay at the club and claims he has not been making 'crazy' contract demands.

Mohamed Salah has reiterated his desire to remain at Liverpool and has insisted that he has not made "crazy" contract demands to the Reds.

The Egypt international has entered the final 18 months of his existing deal on Merseyside, with talks over a new contract rumbling on in the background but yet to lead to a positive solution.

Reports in the autumn suggested that Salah was after a mammoth £500k-a-week deal to extend his stay with Liverpool, but the former Chelsea man has denied making requests for 'crazy' financial terms.

Speaking to GQ Magazine, Salah said: "I want to stay, but it's not in my hands. It's in their hands. They know what I want. I'm not asking for crazy stuff. The thing is when you ask for something and they show you they can give you something because they appreciate what you did for the club.

"I've been here for my fifth year now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me. But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It's in their hands."

Salah has registered 23 goals and nine assists in 26 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side this term, and the 29-year-old will be in action for Egypt against Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday afternoon.
