Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule out the prospect of Liverpool adding to their squad in the January transfer window.
The Reds ensured that they will resume the Premier League season seven points off the top four with a 3-1 victory over Southampton in their final match before the World Cup break.
Speaking after the win, Jurgen Klopp hinted that the club were willing to make signings to consolidate a Champions League place.
"If there is something possible we will do it but the door is open and we are open as well," he told reporters.
"It is not about wanting. We want to improve the team all the time, we just believe in the training ground we can do it there."
Liverpool are expected to be in the market for at least one midfielder, with Klopp admitting in the summer that not signing a midfielder was a mistake.
Arthur Melo was brought in on deadline day in an attempt to ease concerns over depth in midfield, however he has featured just once and is currently out until the new year.
With uncertainty over the club's ownership situation, it remains to be seen what kind of budget Klopp will have at his disposal.
