Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture with Newcastle United.

Manchester City return to Premier League action at the weekend with a trip to the North-East to face Newcastle United.

While Pep Guardiola's side remain nine points adrift of leaders Liverpool, City would taken confidence from overturning an early deficit to defeat Chelsea.

However, the Spaniard will want to see his team produce an improved performance after only registering a 1-1 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's clash at St James' Park.

Possible return date: January 18 (vs. Crystal Palace)

While Sane is thought to be making steady progress from a serious knee injury, the winger will not feature until the early weeks of 2020.

Aymeric Laporte

Possible return date: Unknown

Like with Sane, Laporte has not been provided with a specific return date after also suffering a serious knee injury. Realistically, the Frenchman will not be back until at least February.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 7 (vs. Manchester United)

Ukraine international Zinchenko is closing in on a return after undergoing a knee operation, although the left-sided player is unlikely to feature until the opening weeks of December.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Arsenal)

Guardiola has revealed that Aguero is likely to miss 'a few games' with the thigh injury sustained against Chelsea on November 23. With the Argentine unlikely to be risked against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, he could return for the trip to Arsenal.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension issues ahead of the trip to the north-east.
