Manchester United are reportedly attempting to learn the compensation fee that would be required to release Erik ten Hag from his Ajax contract this summer.
The Red Devils are believed to have met with the 52-year-old last week to discuss the managerial position at Old Trafford, with current interim head coach Ralf Rangnick due to step aside this summer.
Ten Hag has seemingly surpassed Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino to become the favourite for the role in Manchester on a long-term basis.
According to Sky Sports News, having met with the Dutchman next week, the Red Devils are now informally gathering information around the head coach.
The report claims that Man United want to know the compensation fee that would be required, in addition to the timing of a possible announcement, with Ajax currently in a title race.
Pochettino is still believed to be firmly in the running for the position, although PSG could make it difficult for the Argentine to leave his role in France.
Ten Hag has won two league titles and two KNVB Cups since arriving at Ajax in 2017, while his side are currently two points clear of PSV Eindhoven at the top of the Eredivisie table.
