Report: Zlatan Ibrahimovic to become Manchester United assistant

A report claims that Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has played his last game for Paris Saint-Germain, could join Manchester United as assistant to Jose Mourinho this summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic will reportedly arrive at Manchester United this summer as assistant manager to Jose Mourinho, who is widely expected to be confirmed as the club's new head coach next week.

Despite leading Man United to the FA Cup on Saturday, current boss Louis van Gaal is said to be on the verge of losing his job after failing to secure Champions League football for the 2016-17 campaign.

Ibrahimovic, meanwhile, will leave Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer this summer and according to Sportsbladet, he will arrive at Old Trafford as assistant to Mourinho.

The same report, however, claims that Ibrahimovic will also represent the 20-time English champions in a playing capacity for 12 months.

Ibrahimovic, who has insisted that he still has 'a lot to offer' as a player, shares a close relationship with Mourinho following their time together at Inter Milan.
