New Huddersfield Town boss Chris Powell allegedly pulled the plug on a deal that involved Sean Scannell making a move to Millwall.
The Lions are thought to have agreed a fee for the winger on deadline day, only for Powell to reject the deal and decide to keep Scannell at the John Smith's Stadium, according to Huddersfield chairman Dean Hoyle.
"Chris told us he didn't want Sean Scannell leaving this club because he would be a big part of his plans, so we blocked that move," Hoyle told the Huddersfield Examiner.
Powell was in charge at Charlton Athletic for three years until he was sacked for a poor run of form, eventually securing the Huddersfield Town job earlier this week.
