Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi "touched" by fans' support

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi says that he is "touched" by the club's supporters' plans to have a 'Fawaz Day'.

Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has released a statement thanking the club's supporters for their plans to have a 'Fawaz Day'.

Al Hasawi is a popular owner among the Forest fans and his personable, down-to-earth nature is part of the reason.

"I don't want to be a distant figure, nor do I want to miss out on the excitement I am sure you are all enjoying as the season enters its final months," he said in today's statement released on the club's official website.

Al Hasawi's knowledge of the history of the club and his regular contact with supporters on Twitter and in person have led to the planning of 'Fawaz Day' for tomorrow's away trip to Huddersfield Town.

On the plans, Al Hasawi added: "I was [touched] to read of your plans for a 'Fawaz Day' at tomorrow's match against Huddersfield. Knowing you are all behind me is an incredible feeling."

Forest are currently fifth in the Championship, just five points shy of the automatic promotion places.
