Danny Higginbotham has described Neil Warnock's potential arrival at Nottingham Forest as a "great appointment".
Recent speculation has suggested that Forest owner Fawaz Al Hasawi met with Warnock yesterday evening, having decided to part company with current boss Billy Davies.
The rumours have been met with a mixed response, but former Manchester United defender Higginbotham, who spent time on loan at the City Ground in 2012, has backed the decision.
"Think it will be a great appointment. Forest have one of the best squads in the league. Great club that needs to be in [the Premier League]," he wrote on Twitter.
Warnock, 65, has been out of management since he was sacked by Leeds United last year.
