Port Vale manager Bruno Ribeiro has revealed that his side are close to signing Benfica goalkeeper Miguel Santos.
The 21-year-old has been training with the Valiants and played in their pre-season friendly at Sheffield Wednesday a fortnight ago.
Ribeiro told the Stoke Sentinel: "I think the papers are okay now with Benfica and maybe on Tuesday [Santos] can be in the squad, we will see."
Santos, who has played 50 games for Benfica's B team, would become Vale's fourth Portuguese signing of the summer, following left-back Kiko, midfielder Paulo Tavares and striker Carlos Saleiro.
