Scunthorpe United have recruited defender Marnick Vermijl on loan from Preston North End for the remainder of the campaign.
The 26-year-old has been granted permission to spend the remaining months of 2017-18 away from Deepdale after being used just three times for the Lilywhites this term.
Vermijl joins a Scunthorpe side sitting fourth in the League One table and with realistic prospects of earning promotion to the Championship.
In total, the former Manchester United academy prospect has made 54 appearances for Preston, scoring four times.
Scunthorpe announced Vermijl's arrival moments before Sam Mantom was loaned to Southend United.
