Michael Dawson has admitted that he was "sad" to leave Tottenham Hotspur after joining Hull City.
The centre signed for the Tigers earlier this week, and said that it was the right time to move on after accepting that new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino had other plans for his defence.
"There was no hiding it, I was sad to leave Spurs," he told Sky Sports News. "After nine-and-a-half years, I had a great relationship with everyone at the football club.
"The fans were fantastic with me through hard times as well as the good times, so I'd like to make a big thank you to them, and I look forward to going back.
"Pochettino wanted change and I wasn't in the plans as much. The opportunity to come [to Hull] was there. I can definitely learn [from Steve Bruce]. He reminds the lads what he's won and if you've done that then you'd certainly tell them, it's remarkable."
The 30-year-old joined for an undisclosed fee.
